《448 Times》
Work Introduction:
“I have never met myself. My face is pressed against the dark side of my mind. Please open the curtain.” Sarah Kane, 4.48 Psychosis
This work is inspired by the play 4.48 Psychosis by British playwright Sarah Kane, her final work written before her death. The play is often interpreted as an inner record of a person experiencing depression, reflecting on death, love, human relationships, struggle, and awakening.
Death may sound distant and abstract, yet it already exists everywhere in our daily lives. As long as we live, every second moves us closer to it. Perhaps many people have experienced moments of wanting to end everything. “Why do people want to die?” Beginning with this question, the work attempts to explore the deep longing for life hidden within reflections on death.
